Thai PM granted audience with UK Queen, hold talked with UK counterpart

LONDON, November 14 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, who is paying an official visit to the United Kingdom from November 12-15, is scheduled to meet his UK counterpart David Cameron today, after she was earlier granted an audience with UK Queen Elizabeth II. Yingluck told TNA that it was her greatest honor and pride to be granted an audience with the UK Queen and, on behalf of Thai people, she congratulated Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for the 60th anniversary of her accession to the throne. According to the Thai prime minister, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II inquired about the health of Their Majesties the King and the Queen of Thailand. The prime minister acknowledged that the United Kingdom and Thailand have had sound relations for over four centuries at both royal and civilian levels and she will further strengthen bilateral relations in all dimensions. On the last day of her visit to the United Kingdom on November 15, Premier Yingluck met UK leading fund managers at Chamberlain Restaurant and visited the Leadenhall Market in London and the Kennington branch of Tesco Lotus modern trade, where there are Thai Select Award-winning Thai food stalls. At noon (UK time), the prime minister held bilateral talks with her UK counterpart, after that the UK prime minister hosted a luncheon for the Thai premier and her entourage. (TNA)
