Thailand to host IASP Asia 2012

BANGKOK, November 23 (TNA) - Thailand will host the Joint Conference of the International Association of Science Parks:Asia-Pacific and West Asia Divisions (IASP) Asia 2012, scheduled for November 26-28, in which international delegates from both the public and private sectors of 20 countries participate. Organized by Thailand Science Park and themed "Open Innovation", the IASP Asia 2012 Conference is aimed to be a regional stage for the participants to share their knowledge and experiences on innovations for their national growth and development. Thai Science and Technology Minister Worawat Ua-apinyakul explained that the theme "Open Innovation" will enable regional agencies to openly learn on the shared ideas and knowledge to be applied for their agencies, together with their existing approaches, in order to create new products and services with added values for the sake of their national economic growth and enhanced competitiveness in all areas. According to the minister, his ministry will focus on the development of agro-industries in the Thai North, improved livestocks and energy sectors in the Thai Northeast and upgraded rubber and oil palm plantations in the Thai South next year, based on the shared innovations.
