Pitak Siam Group: Rally will be peaceful
BANGKOK, November 23 (TNA) - Pitak Siam Group spokesperson Watchara Ritthakanee reaffirmed Friday the group’s anti-government rally at the Royal Plaza in Bangkok on Saturday and Sunday will be peaceful.
Speaking to reporters, Air Marshal Watchara claimed that over 500,000 people are expected to join the rally this weekend.
Air Marshal Watchara assured that the rally will not move to Government House or Parliament.
However, due to a large crowd, the protesters may have to expand the rally to roads around the rally site, he added.
Meanwhile, police have stepped up security in and around Government House with five roads closed Friday.
The roads closure came one day after the government announced the enforcement of the Internal Security Act in three districts of Bangkok until November 30. (TNA)
