Supreme Patriarch blesses Thai King

BANGKOK, December 1 (TNA) - Thailand’s Supreme Patriarch has conveyed his blessing to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who will celebrate his 85th birthday anniversary on December 5, 2012. Inviting all Thais to pray for the revered Thai monarch, the Supreme Patriarch wished His Majesty the King a happy birthday and “Long Live the King”, noting that Thailand has been able to uphold two significant polls all along, including the Buddhist religion and the royal Thai institution, under which Thai Kings are regarded as the top leader of the country and this follows the Lord Buddha’s teaching: If dharma is considered a big umbrella giving protection from rain to justice holders, then a just king is considered a big umbrella for his subjects. According to the Supreme Patriarch, Thailand is fortunate to have been ruled by kings and each king has shown his own miracles, depending on the situation prevailing during his reign and each king has performed duty in keeping peace and happiness in the Kingdom. The Supreme Patriarch suggested it is, therefore, important for all Thais to express their loyalty and realise how much His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej has performed duty for the sake of happiness of his subjects and the country.
