Ruling Puea Thai Party to report first-year performance in mid-Dec

BANGKOK, December 1 (TNA) - The ruling Pheu Thai Party is preparing to distribute VCDs reporting the party’s performance during the past one year to the public and to also announce its work via radio and television stations on December 15. Deputy party spokesman Jirayu Huangsap told reporters today that the ruling Pheu Thai Party is preparing a 15-minute-long VCD to be distributed to people while the Thai House of Representatives is in recess now. Regarding a recent no-confidence debate lodged by the opposition camp, in which the Pheu Thai Party-led coalition government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra survived the censure, the deputy party spokesman said surveys conducted by his party and independent polls showed that the opposition had failed because it focused on attacking exiled ex-Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, Premier Yingluck's elder brother. The deputy party spokesman acknowledged, however, that his Pheu Thai Party will conduct an assessment on performances of ministers under the ruling party so that their performances will be further improved. Earlier in the day, the prime minister acknowledged during her weekly address that the censure motion gave a good opportunity to the opposition to scrutinise her government’s performance and allowed her administration to explain its works. However, the Thai premier noted some issues were not explained in details in the House and concerned ministers were ordered to further explain to the public. (TNA)
