Car orders at Thailand Auto Show 2012 pass 20,000-mark

BANGKOK, December 3 (TNA) - Orders for over 20,000 new vehicle models, worth billions of baht, have been placed during the past four days, from November 29-December 2, at the 29th Thailand International Motor Expo, which ends on December 10. Of the total 20,506 orders, 30-40 per cent were compact sedans eligible for a tax rebate of up to 100,000 baht each under the Thai government's first-car buyers programme. According to the organiser of the fair, Honda cars have been mostly ordered at 5,034, followed by Toyota at 4,229 and Nissan at 1,983, all are the Japanese globally-renowned brands. (TNA)
