Social network praises His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej

BANGKOK, December 5 (TNA) - Social networks have emerged as a way in which well wishers praise Thailand’s revered king on his 85th birthday. Many of the most outstanding comments ever left on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram were associated with His Majesty and his reign, particularly by those who missed the opportunity to see his appearance at the Ananda Samakom Throne Hall in Bangkok on Wednesday morning. While buildings and homes all over the country were adorned with flags, portraits of His Majesty and bunting, predominantly in the royal colour of yellow, millions followed His Majesty’s historic speech via television and radio. In Thailand’s southern holidaying Phuket Island, navy ships fired a 21-gun salute, which was accompanied by a first-ever marine parade with a fleet of more than 10 navy ships, large vessels and giant trawlers, in honour of His Majesty. King Bhumibol Adulyadej, is the world's longest reigning monarch, having ascended the throne on 9 June 1946. (TNA)
