Thai PM:Government will follow King’s advice
BANGKOK, December 8 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra says her government will heed and follow His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s advice given on His Majesty's 85th birthday celebrations earlier this week.
Speaking during her weekly TV and radio programme, Yingluck praised His Majesty the King for being the centre of all Thais, noting that December 5, 2012 was another historical day for Thais throughout the country to smile with happiness and to pay tribute to the beloved Thai monarch.
Yingluck insisted that her government will follow and strictly implement what His Majesty the King has advised.
On the auspicious occasion of His Majesty's 85th birthday celebrations, the revered Thai monarch asked his subjects, Cabinet ministers and dignitaries to uphold and offer mercy to each other and to preserve national unity in order to make Thailand survived.
His Majesty the King, meanwhile, paid a private visit to the Princess Mother Memorial Park in Bangkok's Khlong San (คลองสาน) District on Friday afternoon, when thousands of people, most of them wearing yellow-shirts, the colour of Monday the day His Majesty the King was born, lined along the route and cheered “Long Live the King”, as His Majesty's motorcade passed by.
The park is situated in the neighbourhood, where the late Princess Mother lived during her childhood. A museum in honour of the late Princess Mother is also built inside the memorial park. (TNA)
