KTF's Q3 profit rises 17 pct on reduced spending
SEOUL, Oct. 27 (Yonhap) -- KTF Co., South Korea's second-largest mobile phone operator, said Monday its third-quarter profit rose 17 percent from a year earlier as it spent less on marketing and handset subsidies amid eased competition.
KTF earned 73.6 billion won (US$52 million) for the three months ended Sept. 30,
compared with 62.9 billion won a year earlier, the company said in a regulatory
filing.
Third-quarter operating profit jumped 42 percent to 169.7 billion won, KTF said.
Sales rose 13.5 percent to 2.02 trillion won.
