Thai, Lao stock markets extend cooperation

BANGKOK, December 26 (TNA) - The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Lao Securities Exchange or LSX have signed an agreement to extend their cooperation for another two years. The extended agreement, the third of its kind since July 2009, was signed by SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira and LSX President Dethphouvang Moularat in Bangkok on Tuesday, under which cooperation between the SET and the LSX will be continued in 2013 and 2014, during which the SET will organize training and study trips for LSX staffs and support the development of knowledge about security exchanges for their workers so that they understand the operations of both countries' bourses. The SET will also share with the LSX its experiences and knowledge relating to stock exchange regulations and promote the stock exchanges to create business opportunities in both countries. The LSX was opened in 2010 and there are now three listed companies in coffee, aviation and banking businesses. (TNA)
