SK Telecom Q3 net plunges 58 pct on higher costs
SEOUL, Oct. 28 (Yonhap) -- SK Telecom Co., South Korea's leading mobile carrier, said Tuesday its third-quarter earnings fell 58 percent on-year on increased marketing costs.
Net income stood at 333.6 billion won (US$224.5 million) in the July-September
period, compared with 777 billion won a year earlier, the company said in a
regulatory filing.
Sales gained 2.98 percent to 2.89 trillion won in the quarter, while operating
profit slid 6.06 percent to 504 billion won.
SK Telecom's shares plunged 4.98 percent to 191,000 won as of 11:08 a.m. on the
Seoul bourse.
