Thai students join wall-painting to mark 180th anniversary of Thai-US relations

BANGKOK, January 30 (TNA) - A group of young Thai artists on Wednesday enthusiastically painted the front wall of the US Embassy in Bangkok, as part of various activities held to celebrate the 180th anniversary of the US-Thai diplomatic relations. Twenty-Thirteen appears to be an exciting year with various events organized to commemorate the spirit of friendship between Washington and Bangkok. US Ambassador to Thailand Kristie Kenney joined the Thai students from 10 high schools across Bangkok in decorating the front wall of the US Embassy, situated on the Wireless Road in the heart of the Thai capital. The US top envoy then thanked all the young Thai painters for making the US Embassy's wall lively, colourful and visitor-friendly, stating that the murals, themed “two nations, one friendship” demonstrate many aspects of Thai-US identities, as well as the Thai students’ creativity with music and arts talents, just like American and international students around the world. To commemorate the 180th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the United States and Thailand, the US Embassy in Bangkok has also cooperated with many other partners to organize various activities throughout 2013, including the U.S.A. Fair and sport and environmental events. (TNA)
