Korea Gas net loss narrows in Q3

SEOUL, Oct. 30 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's state-run Korea Gas Corp. said Thursday
that its third-quarter loss narrowed from a year earlier thanks to increased
sales.
Net loss shrank to 5.33 billion won (US$4.1 million) in the July-September period
from a loss of 90 billion won a year ago, Korea Gas said in a mandatory filing.
Sales jumped 87.3 percent on-year to 4.3 trillion won in the quarter, and the
company posted an operating profit of 43.3 billion won, compared with a loss of
115 billion won a year ago.
Shares of Korea Gas soared 9.93 percent to 44,850 won as of 2:25 p.m. on the main
bourse.
