Jupiter Aerobatic Team To Malaysia

Jakarta, March 22 (ANTARA) - Indonesia`s Jupiter Aerobatic Team will participate in Malaysia`s Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition on March 26-30 using nine KT-01 Wong Bee aircraft. Defense minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro saw off the team here on Friday with a hope they could perform well in the international event. He said professionalism of a pilot could be shown not only in a battle but also during peaceful time. In view of that he said Indonesian pilots must have high quality. and "they have already performed well in Thailand and Australia so far." In the event Indonesia will also display the military version of its CN-295 aircraft, which is the latest generation of CN-235 produced by Spain`s Airbus Military and PT Dirgantara Indonesia. Air Force chief of staff Marshal Ida Bagus Putu Dunia meanwhile said on the occasion that the team would perform 18 maneuvers in the event including Jupiter Roll, Loop, XClover Leap, Mirror, Tango To and Jupiter Roll Bank, Hi ?G? TurnRoll Slide and Break Off. "If the weather is good they would be able to perform 18 maneuvers. But if it is not they might only perform 16 maneuvers," he said. The team would be led by Flight Leader Lt.Col. Dedy "Leopard" Susanto while the aircraft would be piloted by Major Frando Marpaung, Major HS Romas, Major Marcelinus, Major HM Kisha, and Capt. IB Adi Brata. Lt.Col. Dedy said the team has performed demonstrations in various events at home and abroad with the latest one in Jakarta at Indo Defense last year. "We will bring 48 crew members including the pilots, technicians and other supporting personnel," he said.
