President Leads Cabinet Meeting To Discuss 2013 Curriculum

Jakarta, April 2 (Antara) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono led a limited cabinet meeting here on Tuesday to discuss the 2013 Education Curriculum which will be implemented in the upcoming school year. The meeting that took place in the presidential office here at 2.00 pm was among other things attended by Vice President Boediono, Education and Culture Minister M Nuh and Religious Affairs Minister and Suryadharma Ali. The president expressed hope that the 2013 curriculum be prepared well, so as to avoid any problem in its implementation. In preparing the implementation of such curriculum, Yudhoyono also asked (education minister) to pay attention to various inputs from community and education figures. "Our today meeting discusses about one important agenda, the 2013 curriculum. In education, curriculum is an important point along with teaching methodology, nurturing and appropriate evaluation system," he said. The president also said curriculum determines quality of graduates, as well as whether or not the graduates can get jobs. In the meeting, Education and Culture Minister Muhammad Nuh also explained about preparation of the curriculum implementation. Apart from that, Vice President Boediono told the meeting with regard to the matters which should be prepared in implementing the curriculum.
