Indonesia First Member Of IRSE In Southeast Asia

Bandung, W Java, April 8 (Antara) - Indonesia is the first country in Southeast Asia joining the Institution of Railway Signal Engineer (IRSE). IRSE is an association of technicians in railway signal and telecommunications recognized internationally. Joining IRSE as a member is important to develop competence and professionalism of Indonesian technicians in railway signal telecommunications, says chairman of IRSE Indonesia Adi Sufiadi Yusuf said here on Monday. Marketing Director of PT Len Industri Adi Sufiadi Yusuf was named the first chairman of IRSE Indonesia for 2013-2014 at a meeting of IRSE Indonesia in Jakarta on Thursday last week. IRSE chapter Indonesia will certify profession, training and examination materials,covering Indonesian railway affairs and knowledge about railway standards in other countries of IRSE members. Other members of IRSE include Britain, the United States, the Netherlands, Switzerland, India, and Australia. In Southeast Asia, Indonesia is the first and only member of IRSE International. IRSE President Francis How, Deputy Transport Minister Bambang Susantono, president director of PT Len Industri Abraham Mose, Railway Director General Tunjung Inderawan and other Indonesian officials of the transport ministry and the state railway company attended the installation of the board of management of IRSE chapter Indonesia. Adi said the short term target of IRSE Indonesia is to invite signal and telecommunication experts from various institutes to collaborate in the implementation of IRSE program in 2013. IRSE Indonesia, which is linked with IRSE International, will hold a workshop in preparation for examination of international certification, he said. In 2014, IRSE examination would be held for Indonesian engineers to obtain certification of IRSE International, he said. "It would be a challenge for Indonesian engineers to develop themselves and promote their qualification to an international level, he added. IRSE Indonesia hopes to serve as a partner for the government to develop an Indonesian standard in railway signaling and telecommunications, he added.
