U.S. Companies Participate In Food And Hotel Indonesia Trade Show

Jakarta, April 11 (Antara) - Charge d`Affairs of the US Embassy Jakarta Kristen Bauer attended the semi-annual Food and Hotel Indonesia (FHI) 2013 trade show, the embassy said in a statement on its official website here on Thursday . At the FHI show on Wednesday, Bauer met eight US food product exhibitors that included exporters and agricultural industry representatives. FHI is the largest and most important food, beverage, and hospitality trade show in Indonesia. Participating in the event allowed the U.S. companies to build on preexisting commercial partnerships and forge new ones, too. Indonesia and the United States enjoy a mutually beneficial and complementary trading relationship in agricultural, fishery, and forestry products. In 2012, Indonesia was the eighth largest market for U.S. agricultural, fish, and forestry products with exports valued at $2.7 billion. Conversely, in 2012, Indonesia exported to the United States upwards of $5 billion in food and agricultural products, making the US market the second-largest export destination for Indonesian food and agricultural products, the statement said.
