Yudhoyono To Announce New Democrat Party Board Members
Jakarta, April 11 (ANTARA) - The new general chairman of the ruling Democrat Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, plans to announce new members of the party`s central executive board soon, a party official said.
"The party`s central executive board will have new deputy general chairpersons," Max Sopacua, the party`s deputy general chairman, said at the parliament building here on Thursday.
Based on an extraordinary congress in Bali last month the elected general chairman, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, decided to increase the number of deputy general chairpersons by two to three, he said.
"The posts will be filled by potential candidates," he added.
Max said that other empty posts would also be filled in the restructuring efforts to make the party`s structure stronger and more complete.
He said Yudhoyono would soon announce the new members of the board.
Although it has not yet been officially announced it is almost certain Nurhayati Ali Assegaf and Sukarwo would be named deputy general chair persons, he said.
"If the number of deputy general chairpersons is increased by three so one more still has yet to be decided," he said.
He said the post of deputy secretary general of Nurhayati Ali Assegaf would be taken by Andy Nurpati.
Max hoped only potential candidates would take the strategic posts in the party`s executive board to face the general elections in 2014.
