President Hopes DPR To Agree On Direct Aid For People
Jakarta, April 30 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono hoped the House of Representatives (DPR) would agree on the government`s proposal to extend direct cash aid to people in compensation for the oil price hike.
"The oil price hike would be implemented only after the program for the economically weak is ready. This requires a DPR approval,` he said in his twitter account here on Tuesday.
He hoped the DPR could agree on the program in May this year.
"I hope in May DPR would approve the government`s proposal so that the direct aid could be immediately made available," he said.
When opening a national meeting on national development plans this morning President Yudhoyono said he hoped the government`s policy to increase fuel oil price to reduce subsidy would be able to secure the country`s fiscal and budget conditions.
He said the government would only raise the price of subsidized fuel oils after the revised budget 2013 containing a budget for direct aid and compensation for the economically weak is approved by the DPR.
