Quake Jolts Papua's Nabire

Bandarlampung, Lampung, May 9 (Antara) - A 5.2-magnitude earthquake hit the waters southwest of Nabire in Papua province on Thursday, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). The epicenter of the quake which struck at 06.59 p.m. western Indonesian time was located 84 km southwest of Nabire at a depth of 10 km, the chief of Kotabumi geophysics station in Lampung province, Yuharman said quoting a BMKG report. The quake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami, he said.
