President, House Discuss Economic Issues

Jakarta, May 13 (Antara) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono held a consultation meeting with the leaders of the House of Representatives (DPR) to discuss economic issues here on Monday. "We will focus in this meeting on factual matters, particularly on the economic field and on what we have to do to overcome the problem," the President said in his opening remarks in the meeting. President Yudhoyono thanked the DPR leaders who were prepared to come to the consultation meeting which was held under the request of the government. On the occasion, the President was accompanied by Vice President Boediono and cabinet ministers such as Chief Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono, Chief Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik, National Development Planning Minister/Head of National Development Agency Armida S Alisjahbana, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi and Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam. In the meantime, the DPR leaders who attended the meeting were House Speaker Marzuki Ali, House deputy speakers Pramono Anung, Priyo Budi Santoso, Sohibul Imam and Taufik Kurniawan. The House leaders who arrived at the Presidential Palace complex at 8.10 am were welcomed by President Yudhoyono.
