Indiaˈs VP Calls For Settling Syrian Problems Inside Its Border

New Delhi, May 14, IRNA – Indiaˈs Vice-President Hamid Ansari, stressing on his countryˈs stance on Syria, said Syria problems should be settled inside its borders. Ansari, in a meeting with Iranˈs Ambassador to New Delhi Gholamreza Ansari, said India is for stability and security in Syria and believes that Syrian problems should not spread to outside of its borders. Expressing satisfaction with recent visit of Indiaˈs Foreign Minister to Tehran, the VP underlined importance of expansion of ties between the two countries and also expressed Indiaˈs readiness for active participation in Chabahar port city Project, southeast of Iran. He added India strongly supports investment plans in Chabahar. Gholamreza Ansari expounded on Iranˈs viewpoints on regional issues, especially Afghanistan and Syria, adding that increase of radicalism will harm all countries of the region. He also talked about bilateral relations, recent visit of Indiaˈs Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid to Tehran, holding the 17th joint economic commission, as well as importance of investment projects in port city of Chabahar. The ambassador said that Chabahar project has a strategic importance for India , because of its connection with Afghanistan and Central Asian countries, so it is better that India take practical steps in this concern./end
