Antam Spends Rp17.6 Billion For Mining Explorations

Jakarta, 13 (Antara) - Publicly listed PT Antam spent Rp17.6 billion on its gold, bauxite and coal exploration activities in May 2013, the company said in a press release here on Thursday. Antam Corporate Secretary Tri Hartono said in a press statement that the company carried out its nickel exploration activities in May in Buli (North Maluku), Pomala (Southeast Sulawesi) and in Pulau Gag (West Papua) with a total cost of Rp6.4 billion. He said that gold explorations were carried out in Pongkor and Papandayan (West Java), Cibaliung (Benten) and Batulicin (Jambi) with a cost reaching Rp10.3 billion. In the meantime, bauxite explorations were conducted in Mampawah, Landak and Manggu Pasir (West Kalimantan) which spent a fund of Rp650.3 million. While in Jambi, the company carried out explorations on coals in Tebo, Jambi, with a cost of Rp269.2 million.
