No problem on N. Korea policy coordination with Obama government: minister

SEOUL, Nov. 7 (Yonhap) -- South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan dismissed
concerns Friday that the country's conservative government may have difficulty
coordinating a policy on North Korea with the incoming U.S. administration.

He noted relations between the South Korean government and key foreign policy
advisers to U.S. President-elect Barack Obama, many of whom served under the
Clinton administration.
"We have experience in close policy cooperation with the Clinton administration
and share a common goal of denuclearizing North Korea," Yu told a press briefing.
With regard to six-way talks on North Korea's nuclear program, Yu said nations
involved in the process are in consultation with the aim of resuming negotiations
by the middle of this month. Given the heavy schedule in the coming weeks,
however, including the Group of 20 summit and the Asia-Pacific Economic
Cooperation meetings, those talks may have to be delayed to early December, Yu
said.
