Iran's interior ministry updates voting count, Rouhani still leads the race

Iran, Tehran, June 15 / Trend, T.Jafarov/ Iran's Interior Ministry has updated the voting count for the presidential elections in the country, and thus far Hassan Rouhani continues to lead the race, Trend's special corresponded reported from Tehran. The Ministry said that 6,598 300 votes have been counted so far from 12, 058 polling stations (out of total 58,764). According to statistics, Hassan Rouhani leads with 3,219,322 votes, followed by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf (1,095,671), Saeed Jalili (868,301), Mohsen Rezaee (708,941), Ali Akbar Velayati (412,941), and Mohammad Gharazi (82,141). The 11th presidential elections have officially started yesterday in Iran. Over 50 million Iranians were eligible to take part in Friday's polls. Due to high amount of people willing to leave their votes for the candidates, the time of the elections was extended several times, before the final closure of the polls. The president of Iran is elected for a four-year term in a national election. The Guardian Council has vetted the candidates for qualifications. Do you have any feedback?
