Standing committees' joint meeting was held

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The parliamentary Standing committee on petitions organized Tuesday a joint meeting in the State House together with its counterpart of the Germany Bundestag.
This meeting brought together a delegation headed by Mr Gero Storjohann, a deputy head of the Petitions Committee of the Bundestag; Mr R.Burmaa MP, head of the Standing committee on petitions; S.Odontuya MP, a deputy head of the Democratic Party’s faction at the State Great Khural; and other officials.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ms Burmaa introduced activities of her Standing committee which has been newly set up at the parliament. She noted that the committee is studying the possibility how to receive and handle petitions on-line. "Only 37 per cent of all petitions are related to parliament’s power issues, it means that people does not have enough knowledge about delivering their petitions," she underlined.
