Korea`s index futures to be traded on CME next year

SEOUL, Nov. 7 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's stock index futures will be traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), the world's leading derivatives exchange, next year, the country's bourse operator said Friday.

According to the Korea Exchange (KRX), the KOSPI 200 index futures, whose
underlying asset is the KOSPI 200 index, will be traded on the CME Globex, the
electronic trading platform of the CME, after domestic markets close in September
next year, .
The index futures trading on the U.S. derivative exchange will allow investors to
do around-the-clock trading, the exchange operator said.
KRX has been seeking to list its derivative products on overseas exchanges in a
bid to woo more foreign investors.
