Kazakh and Russian Presidents discuss development of bilateral relations

Azerbaijan, Baku, July 8 / Trend E. Kosolapova/ Kazakh and Russian Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimir Putin discussed the main issues of further development of bilateral relations during the meeting in Astana on Sunday, Kazakh Presidential press-service reported. The parties also discussed the implementation of the agreements signed at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in May. "The relations between our two countries and peoples are developing dynamically ...Economic and political relations are very intensive, the processes are developing within the Customs Union, the Common Economic Space and the Eurasian Economic Union which is being created," Nazarbayev said. Kazakh President also said that a meeting would be held within the Interregional Cooperation Forum in Yekaterinburg in autumn and the basic treaty on good neighborliness and alliance between the countries may be amended within this meeting. In turn, Putin congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev on recent birthday, and as well on the Day of the capital. "We are discussing the entire complex of bilateral relations, including space activity. Unfortunately, some unforeseen accidents occur in this sphere. The existing problems will be resolved, we have a special joint work program," Russian President said. Putin also said that the idea of Customs Union, which was initially proposed by Nursultan Nazarbayev gives good results. "Integration relations can smooth out rough challenges in global economy, which affect our countries," said Russian President. The parties also discussed topical international issues, including the situation in Afghanistan in light of the planned withdrawal of coalition troops in the coming year, as well as the situation in the Middle East and Northern Africa.
