S. Korea to face Uzbekistan in U-19 semifinals
SEOUL, Nov. 9 (Yonhap) -- South Korea will face Uzbekistan this week in the semifinal of the under-19 Asian Football Confederation Championship in Saudi Arabia, game organizers said Sunday.
South Korea advanced to the semifinals after defeating Japan 3-0 on Saturday.
Uzbekistan beat China in a penalty shoot-out.
South Korea's advance to the semifinals in this year's event also earned the
country a ticket to the under-20 World Cup scheduled for next year in Egypt,
according to the organizers.
South Korea is seeking their first championship title in the U-19 regional
competition since 2004, and their 12th in history.
The South Korea-Uzbekistan semifinal is scheduled for Tuesday.
