IDB To Finance Construction Of Fishing Terminal In Majene
Mamuju, West Sulawesi, July 11 (Antara)- The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) will provide a loan of around Rp400 billion to finance the construction of a fishing terminal in the province of West Sulawesi.
The fishing terminal is being built in Palipi in the sub-district of Sendana in the regency of Majene, West Sulawesi Governor Anwar Adnan Saleh said.
Anwar said IDB had agreed to invest in West Sulawesi such as in the Majene fishing port project to help develop the fishery sector in the province.
He said the project is now under construction by the regional administration and the fund from IDB is needed to finish the project.
The fishery ministry already provided Rp21 billion from the state budget to finance feasibility study, and design of the project.
"The project will cost around Rp600 billion," Anwar said.
IDB provides the load aid based on a cooperation agreement with the central government
"Under the cooperation agreement, the central government is to provide 10 percent of the total cost with IDB to put up the remaining 90 percent," Anwar said.
He said he hopes that Majene fishing port would boost development of the fishery sector in the region.
He said the fishery sector in West Sulawesi has only little contribution to the regional income.
The Majene fishing port, which will have a fish processing factory, will occupy a 3,000 hectare plot of land.
