GS Engineering wins 750 bln won order from GS Caltex

SEOUL, Nov. 10 (Yonhap) -- GS Engineering and Construction Corp., South Korea's
No. 2 builder by market capitalization, said Monday it has won a 750 billion won
(US$562 million) contract to build a desulfurization facility for GS Caltex Corp.
The facility will be built by December 2010 at an industrial complex in the port
city of Yeosu, 455 kilometers southwest of Seoul, GS Engineering said in a
statement. If completed, the facility will produce 113,000 barrels of
cleaner-burning fuels per day.
So far this year, GS Engineering has won orders worth 10 trillion won, making it
possible to meet this year's order target of 12.2 trillion, the company said.
Both GS Caltex, the nation's second-largest refiner, and GS Engineering are
affiliates of GS Holdings Corp., the holding company of the energy-focused GS
Group.
