Azerbaijani ruling party submits documents to CEC for registration of Ilham Aliyev as presidential candidate

Azerbaijan, Baku, August 6 / Trend E. Mehdiyev / The ruling New Azerbaijan Party will submit the necessary documents to the Central Election Commission (CEC) to register its candidate Ilham Aliyev at the upcoming presidential elections, the party reported. A decision was made at the fifth congress of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party on June 7 to nominate the candidacy of Azerbaijani President, chairman of the party Ilham Aliyev in the upcoming presidential elections. The nomination for the presidential elections started in Azerbaijan on Monday. The CEC decided to hold the presidential elections on October 9.
