Canadian Bombardier upgrades rail signaling system in Azerbaijan

Canadian Bombardier Transportation signed a contract with "Azerbaijani railways" CJSC to upgrade signaling systems on Baku-Boyuk Kesik railway, according to a message posted on company's official website.
According to the message, the total value of the deal is $288 million.
The length of Baku-Boyuk Kesik railway, on which new signaling systems will be installed, is 503 kilometers.
The volume of work covers designing, manufacturing, supply, install, test and commissioning of Interflo 200 signaling system. The commissioning of the system is planned in four stages and the process will be completed in 2017.
A major overhaul of 317 kilometres of the Baku-Boyuk Kesik railway is being conducted through a loan of $215 million allocated by the Czech Exim Bank. The work was launched on June 10, 2011 at the 97th kilometre of Agstafa-Tatli. To date, over 250 kilometers of the railway has been repaired.
