Turkey increases car exports by nearly 10 percent since early 2013

Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 18 /Trend A.Taghiyeva/ In January-August 2013, Turkey increased its exports of cars by 9.9 percent compared to the same period of 2012, bringing its amounts to $13.7 billion, a report of Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association said on Tuesday According to the report, thus the export of automobile sector in Turkey took the first place among other spheres of country's industry. In the first eight months of 2013, the automobile industry in Turkey increased by 2.6 percent compared to the same period in 2012, the report said. During this period, the country produced about 780,000 cars. The total number of cars sold in the domestic market during this period increased by 10 percent to 290.9 thousand, 70 percent of which accounted for the share of imported cars.
