S. Korea`s SK Wyverns shuts out China`s Tianjin Lions in Asian Series
TOKYO, Nov. 14 (Yonhap) -- South Korean baseball champions the SK Wyverns powered past their Chinese counterparts the Tianjin Lions in a mercy rule score of 15-0 on Friday, cruising toward the final of the Asian Series tournament in Japan.
The Korea Series winning team had won its opener against Japanese post-season
champions Seibu Lions 4-3 a day earlier. The Wyverns will now face Taiwan's
Uni-President Lions over the weekend, hoping to clinch a ticket to the Sunday
final of the four-nation tournament.
No South Korean professional team has ever captured a title in the annual series,
which began three years ago.
