Iran envoy confers with Burundi president
Tehran, Nov 17, IRNA
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Sheikholeslam held talks with
Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza on fostering Tehran-Bujumbura
ties.
Sheikholeslam, Iranian special envoy, extended warm greetings of
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to president Nkurunziza.
Referring to Iran's foreign policy on expansion of ties with the
African states, Sheikholeslam called for transfer of engineering and
technical experiences to Burundi.
He also said that Iranian companies are able to participate in the
development projects in Burundi, referring to those companies'
considerable potentials for implementing the industrial projects.
Meanwhile, president Nkurunziza said that Iran and Burundi are willing
to boost bilateral cooperation.
He welcomed Iranian companies and private sectors to participate in
the Burundian projects.
The two sides discussed the international issues as well.
