Three Companies Named As 2014 Subsidized Fuel Distributors
Jakarta, Dec 31 (Antara) - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Board (BPH Migas) has named three corporate bodies as subsidized fuel distributors in 2014.
"The three will distribute 48 million kiloliters of fuel oils according to the quota as specified in the 2014 state budget," stated BPH Migas Chief Andy Noorsaman here on Tuesday.
The three companies are PT Pertamina, PT Aneka Kimia Raya Tbk (AKR), and PT Surya Parna Niaga (SPN).
Pertamina will distribute 47.355 million kiloliters consisting of 32.32 million kiloliters of gasoline, 14.135 million kiloliters of diesel oil and 900 thousand kiloliters of kerosene.
AKR will distribute 640 thousand kiloliters consisting of 140 thousand kiloliters of gasoline and 500 thousand kiloliters of diesel oil, while SPN will distribute 5 thousand kiloliters of diesel oil.
Andy explained that the three companies were named as subsidized fuel distributors after going through a selection process.
He noted that 63 companies which hold fuel distribution permits were invited to a meeting held on July 16 for a general briefing on the distribution of subsidized fuels.
"However, only 15 of the 63 companies were present and 11 out of the 15 companies procured the selection documents," he noted.
Ten of the 11 companies returned the selection documents to the BPH committee while one company, PT Mega Grand Teknologi, did not, he explained.
The 10 companies were Pertamina, AKR, SPN, PT Ocean Petro Energy, PT Roulina Energi, PT Anayaksa Persada, PT Tri Wahana Universal, PT KOPL Indonesia, PT Elnusa Petrofin, and PT Astiku Sakti.
"Only four companies passed the selection process. They were Ocean, AKR, SPN, and Pertamina," he stated.
Based on the results of the BPH Committee`s meeting, three companies, Pertamina, AKR and SPN were qualified as subsidized fuel distributors.
"Ocean did not meet the required qualifications," he noted.
Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Susilo Siswoutomo pointed out that it is not easy for companies to distribute subsidized fuels.
"They must have reliable infrastructures and systems," he emphasized.
