Kimia Farma To Build 100 Health Clinics
Jakarta, Jan 9 (Antara) - Multinational pharmaceutical company PT Kimia Farma will build 100 healthcare units in line with the establishment of the Social Security Management Agency (BPJS) which is implementing the government`s National Health Insurance (JKN) beginning this month.
"Kimia Farma is ready to invest Rp30 billion in 2014 to expand its health clinics and drug stores network across Indonesia," President Director of Kimia Farma Rusdi Rosman stated, here on Thursday.
Rusdi pointed out that Kimia Farma was ready to build upto 150 healthcare units in order to help the BPJS reach all segments of the society effectively.
He added that currently, Kimia Farma has only 200 clinic units but hopes to increase the number of clinic centers across the country to about one thousand units in the next few years.
"Kimia Farma is connected with the programs of the BPJS on the health sector in order to implement the program efficiently and effectively," Rosman explained.
According to the Kimia Farma president director, the new clinics will be built by Kimia Farma; however, there is a possibility that it takes over clinics from other parties as well.
He explained that funds that have been set aside for the construction of the clinics have already been taken from the company`s internal financial sources.
In this case, Kimi Farma would serve not only as a center for providing health services but also for distributing certain generic medicines to independent clinics.
Rosman explained that in 2013 Kimia Farma`s generic drug distribution reached a value of Rp350 billion, and is expected to increase to Rp800 billion in 2014.
He admitted that the margin of generic drugs was small and so, its contribution to the total sales was just about 10 percent.
Rosman also expressed hope that the implementation of the JKN by the BPJS will increase Kimia Farma`s income in the future.
Kima Farma has set a net profit target at Rp247 billion in 2014, with an expected income growth of 14 percent from the previous year.
