Kargo Deraya Air Sentani To Procure Two New Units Of Cargo Plane
Sentani, Papua, Jan 24(Antara) - Cargo airline PT Deraya Air, which is based at the Sentani airport of Jayapura, Papua, plan to procure two new units of cargo planes.
PT Deraya Air spokesman Rahman Maulana said the two new planes would be used for cargo transport from Sentani to Wamena in the province.
The two units of aircraft are expected to be put into operation early next month, Rahman said here on Friday.
He said the two units are BAe ATP (Advence Torbo Propeller), the same type as the planes it already has, with a carrying capacity of 6.7 tons of cargo per flight.
The new units would serve the route left open by the airline plane, which was badly damaged after slipping at the Wamena airport in May, 2013, he said.
"PT Deraya Air could serve four flights per day. Therefore, we could hanle the transport of 28 tons of cargoes per day," he said.
Operations, however, depend also on the weather condition, he said.
