Telkomsel Set To Be World's Fifth Largest Cell Phone Operator

Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Feb 14 (Antara) - PT Telkomsel said it will open more service offices abroad to expand its networks as a global cellular phone operator. The subsidiary of the state owned telecommunication company Telkom is set to become the fifth largest cell phone operators in the world, its sales director Mas`ud Khamid said here on Friday. Currently Telkomsel has 131.5 million cell phone subscribers or the largest in Indonesia and the sixth largest in the world. "The plan is next month we would open new offices in Taiwan and Macau, and later this year in Australia and Saudi Arabia," Mas`ud Khamid said.
