S. Korea agrees to resumption of six-way talks early next month
SEOUL, Nov. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korea has accepted China's proposal that a new round of six-way talks on the North Korean nuclear program be held in early December, Seoul's Foreign Ministry said Monday.
"There was a proposal from China (to hold the new round on Dec. 8) and South
Korea accepted it," ministry spokesman Moon Tae-young said at a press briefing.
He did not elaborate when Seoul received the offer.
He said the Chinese government was about to make a formal announcement on the
resumption of the talks, which were last convened in July.
U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said earlier that the talks will restart
on Dec. 8.
