North Sulawesi's Exports To Ukraine Still Continue
Manado, North Sulawesi, March 19 (Antara) - Exports from Indonesia`s North Sulawesi Province to Ukraine is still continuing and has not been affected by political unrest there.
"North Sulawesi`s exports to Ukraine have routinely been carried out. From the end of 2013 until now the province has exported frozen fish and coconut powder," head of the region`s trade and industry service Olvie Atteng stated here on Wednesday.
The biggest exports from the region are food commodities, which are needed by all countries, he added.
"Luckily exports from the province are food commodities and so the unrest in Ukraine has not disrupted the region`s exports," he pointed out.
Olvie also revealed that the demand was still high, as the province`s export commodities are needed very much in Ukraine, according to exporters.
North Sulawesi`s frozen fish exports to Ukraine reached 24 tons, giving the province a foreign exchange income of around US$14 thousand, while coconut powder exports reached 39 tons worth US$55,575, he added.
