Top S. Korean, U.S. diplomats to hold strategic talks

SEOUL, Nov. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan will have
"strategic dialogue" with his American counterpart Condoleezza Rice in Washington
early next month, an informed source said Monday.
Their meeting will represent the inaugural session of annual minister-level talks
aimed at coordinating the allies' policy on the North Korean nuclear crisis and
other global issues.
"The first strategic dialogue between the two sides will be held on Dec. 8 in
Washington," the source said.
The South Korean minister also plans to meet with foreign policy aides to
President-elect Barack Obama during his trip to the U.S. capital, according to
the source.
In their meeting held on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in September,
Yu and Rice agreed to launch the strategic dialogue before the end of this year.
