S. Korean left-hander signs with Tokyo-based club

SEOUL, Nov. 25 (Yonhap) -- South Korean left-hander Lee Hye-chun has signed a two-year multi-million-dollar contract with Japan's Yakult Swallows and will formally join the team this week, his agent said Tuesday.

Lee, 29, who played for South Korea's Doosan Bears until this season, has reached
a US$260-million deal and will be declared a member of the Tokyo-based team at a
ceremony on Thursday, his agent Park Yoo-hyun said.
Lee is the second South Korean to play for the Swallows, where right-hander Lim
Chang-yong has played since last year. Lee had initially sought to sign with the
Yomiuri Giants, which later denied they had offered him a deal.
Lee posted an earned run average of 4.69 with seven wins and five losses this
year. He began pitching for the Bears in 1998.
