North Sulawesi Exports 3,000 Tons Of CCO To U.S.

Manado, N Sumatra, April 14 (Antara) - North Sulawesi shipped 3,000 tons of crude coconut oil (CCO) to the United States (U.S) in the second week of April, 2014, a local industry and trade official said. "The export of 3,000 tons of CCO to the US earned North Sulawesi a foreign exchange of 3.4 million US dollars," Head of North Sulawesi`s Industry and Trade Service Olvie Atteng said here on Monday. The realization of the CCO export strengthened North Sulawesi`s coconut by product as one of its top export commodities to advanced countries, Olvie said. "So far, CCO product has been one of North Sulawesi`s primary products which is expected to contribute foreign exchange to the country," the trade and industry official said. He said that demand for North Sulawesi`s CCO still continued to increase. "The government will continue to facilitate the exportation of the product so that the coconut by product of North Sulawesi will be able to expand market," he added.
