TechnoPark partners with Korea Venture Industry Association
Dubai, Nov 27, 2008 (WAM) - TechnoPark, the science and technology facilitator of Economic Zones World, a Dubai World company, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with KOVA, (Korea Venture Industry Association) a representative organization for the rights and interests of 20,000 venture businesses in Korea.
The agreement, signed by Hamad Al Hashemi, Managing Director, TechnoPark and Jun Dae Yul, Vice Chairman, KOVA will facilitate exchange of science, technology and cooperation in information technology, bio-technology, advanced materials and environment between the two parties.
Under the agreement, the two parties will exchange information and knowledge on best practice models with respect to effective planning, development and promotion of their respective businesses; business development activities that lead to growth and global market opportunities and actively participate in technological projects related to High-Tech industries such as IT, BT and Nanotechnology.
The two sides will inform each other regularly on business opportunities forwarded by companies located in their respective location, in search of partnership, particularly from start-up companies.
Hamad Al Hashemi expressed high hopes and expectations that TechnoPark would be able to learn a lot about High-tech industries from Korean venture companies, and, in turn become a strong technology hub in its own right.
"We greatly admire the success of Korean IT and bio venture firms and Korea's venture business fostering policy. By collaborating with Korean venture companies we hope to boost our technology-related industrial development. We are establishing a cutting-edge business park that will serve as a regional hub of sustainable technology and scientific innovation. Extending the space to international industry leaders who are pioneering technologies is key to success of the business hub," said Hamad Al Hashemi.
The Korean Delegation was headed by Song, Jae-Hee, and Deputy Administrator, Small '&' Medium Business Administration 'SMBA', whom TechnoPark will work with on creating the appropriate platforms for SMEs.
This visit is an outcome of a prior meeting held in Seoul, Korea in March 2008, between Hamad Al Hashemi and Sukwoo Hong, Administrator of SMBA.
KOVA is a non-profit and non-government organization representing and advocating 20,000 venture companies in Korea. It engages in various kinds of supporting business such as sales channel development, education and marketing and suggesting policies to the government as a representative of Korean venture companies.
