Qatar Minister of Culture Opens Exhibition of Six Qatari Artists

Doha, May 03 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari has opened the third exhibition of six fine artists, organized by the Department of Visual Arts at the Ministry of Culture at Katara Cultural Village. After the opening ceremony, HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage said the exhibition includes a collection of works of art which we are proud of, stressing that they reflects the flourishing plastic art in Qatar which can represent Qatar at international forums. He pointed out that opportunities have been made available for many Qatari artists to represent Qatar abroad " for we now have what we can contribute to the world civilization.'' Dr. Al Kuwari said displaying our culture and art to the world provides the opportunity to get them know the civilization we have, noting that the coming period, starting from next Friday, May 9, will see the organizing of Qatar cultural days in the Belgian capital Brussels, a programme of particular importance because it (Belgium) is home to most of the European political and economic activities as a whole. This makes the Qatari culture a focus of attention of all the Europeans, Dr. Al Kuwari said adding that Qatar Cultural Days will also be staged in Luxembourg, one of the cities that are interested in culture, arts and letters and for that reason the best paintings depicting the artistic standard in Qatar, will be chosen in addition to other components of the Qatari culture which will be on display at these cultural events. The exhibition includes Qatari contemporary photography art works of photographers : Khalifa Al Obaidli and Rashid Al Mohannadi , as well as works of painters Hanadi Al-Darwish, Mozah Al-Kuwari, Hissa Kalla and Ahmed Noah.(QNA
