“Nur Otan” meetings in regions

Pavlodar, 28 November 2008 (Khabar) - In his speech at the political council in Pavlodar, the deputy chairman of the “Nur Otan” party Darkhan Kaletayev announced that Kazakhstan has taken all measures to overcome the world financial crisis as it is very important to establish control over the reasonable use of money which will be used for the support of the economy and social programmes. He called on all party members to report on existing problems and asked for a rapid resolution.

Darkhan Kaletayev, first deputy chairman of “Nur Otan” People Democratic Party:
- A reduction in social programmes will not occur since social programmes and social policy will remain a priority for the government.

Darkhan Kaletayev presented details about the measures being undertaken for the support of the economy and social welfare. The “Nur Otan” party, being the leading party of the country, will share this responsibility with the government. The responsibility of the regional heads will also increase. The Pavlodar region has already developed an anti-crisis programme, the key point of which is the development of industry. Currently, the construction of five industrial units is underway. Next summer, the first electrolysis plant in the country will be put into operation. The government has allocated money for the construction of the third unit of the Yekibastuz State District Power Plant 2 which will provide 2 thousand extra working places. To reduce expense, the head of the region has banned his subordinate officials from using mobile telephones on expenses. Officials also agreed with the business sphere that food would become cheaper.
Darkhan Kaletayev believes that the crisis has advantages that should be used. At least it will demonstrate how to economize and use money effectively.
