Mongolia to nominate for First East Asian Youth Games

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In accordance with an order of the Prime Minister, a working group has been set up to ensure preparation works for nominating Mongolia for the 1st East Asian Youth Games. The East Asian Youth Games will take place for the first time in 2019 by a decision of the East Asian Games Association (EAGA), and eight countries have nominated for the Games so far. It is expected that hosting the East Asian Youth Games will give big opportunities for Mongolians athletes to improve their athletic skills by competing with their counterparts of Asian top countries in sports, to share experiences and preparing skilled athletes. Moreover, it is believed that organizing the sports event will augment investments to sport sector in Ulaanbaatar, material base for sports will be improved and a good condition will be created for people to exercise with sports. The EAYG is officially attended by Mongolia, Japan, China, South Korea, North Korea, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Guam, and the events include 12 sports which are not included in the Olympic Games. The host country has the right to add up to three sport events to the Games.
