D.Battulga meets “Kakuryu” M.Anand

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Head of the Citizens’ Representative Council of Ulaanbaatar city D.Battulga Sunday received “Kakuryu” M.Anand, a professional sumo wrestler and the 71st Yokozuna of sumo. Beginning the meeting, M.Anand talked about starting his sumo career, saying that he wrote a letter to Japan to become a wrestler when he was 16 years old, and he reached the highest title of the professional sumo 13 years later. The city Council head Battulga said he was happy that a citizen of the capital city’s Bayangol district is competing on top of the sumo world in Japan, and wished him advance his success. “We are very proud of our Mongolian sumo wrestlers who are showing brilliant success at sumo arena of Japan. So the city council always receives the champion sumo wrestlers. We are ready to render all kinds of support to you,” said Battulga. For the time being, 24 Mongolians are competing in the highest division of sumo wrestling.
